Haiti Viral Disaster Relief - @WhosTalkin Results

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs ... they're all part of "Viral Disaster Relief!" People are finding friends and family while unfortunately finding unwanted news of the disastrous fate of loved ones.

A friend direct messaged me that:

"It'd be cool to show the real power of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc to the world by passing that MSG to raise a record amount of aid."

I sure hope someone is tracking "Haiti" keywords and #haiti hashtags to show the power of social media.

The image above shows one of my favorite tools for listening in on conversations, WhosTalkin http://www.whostalkin.com/.

There's no excuse for not giving. Social media brings resources to us, at our fingertips!

Twitter connects us with people like @SEOmofo who help!

I love how Twitter connects us with people who are willing to help! Darren Slatten of http://www.seomofo.com/ took the time to show me TweetMeme profile settings.

The settings in my TweetMeme profile were set to automatically tweet without allowing me to edit the message that gets posted to Twitter. I haven't paid close enough attention to the TweetMeme tool and didn't realize I had profile settings that affected my personal use.

Thank you, Darren!

Thank you, friends on Twitter who are great resources!

Lesson: Don't be afraid to ask for help or express that you have problems with a tool. Someone in your stream probably has the answer!
